To enhance or weaken a mansion in the eight mansions method do you use the elements for the directions for example...
N- water enhance with metal -- weaken with wood or earth
S- fire enhance with wood - weaken with water or earth
E- wood enhance with water - weaken with fire or metal
W- metal enhance with earth - weaken with water or fire
Or do you use .....
Seng Qi- (yang wood) enhance with water
Yan Nian -(yang metal) enhance with earth
Tian Yi -(yang earth) enhance with fire
Fu Wei -( yin wood) enhance with water
Huo Hai -(yin earth) weaken with metal
Liu Sha -(yang water) weaken with wood
Wu Gui -(yin fire) weaken with earth
Jue Ming -(yin metal) weaken with water

More activities is needed to enhance good location. For example, have your working desk at Tian Yi or Liu Sha, having your bed room at Tian Yi and avoid front door located at Wu Gui.

Do you mean that activity supports the mansion and keeping it quiet will supress it? Is it possible to acitvate and supress the eight mansions with the five elements and if so which of the two options above would you use please? Thank you Tracey

If you have to use a particular section for example your kitchen and the yearly star 5 happaned to be there, then use the metal to exhaust. Suppress is the last resort. Yes, you can use "Fire" to enhance Tian Yi sector, but if you are sleeping at this sector, fire will instead cause inbalance, might cause health problem, you feel more impatient andso on. Sleeping or working there is good enogh and much better to put "fire" element.
