| Master, I have taken the door direction number of times with a camping compass. I live in a period 7 house, it always said 21 degrees north. Since I no longer have a camping compass, I decided to download two different iPhone compasses. I have tried the iPhone compass, holding it in front of me facing out, it says 21 degrees north. As I put it down on the tiles facing out it says 57 degrees north-east. When I put the phone flat on the ground it says 57 degrees north-east and when I hold it up, it says 21 degrees north. I'm so confused which would be the most accurate one??????? Thank You |

Many faces difficulty when they try to get the correct facing especially in new constructions and houses. A very good compass or "lou pan" is a must. Apps is not very accurate and is over sensitive. You can try this. Go out, stand facing your main door from outside facing in, get the reading and the opposite will be your house facing. Cheers. |
