What is Tai Sui 太岁?
Tai Sui 太岁 is a Taoist name, in charge of the good and bad fortune of the year. Tai Sui 太岁is one of the celestial “generals”, which take turns rotating, one every year, determining the annual destiny of human beings. Altogether there are 66 Tai Sui and one for each year.
In 2022 the Ruling Tai Sui is General He E (贺谔) (as shown) and the area affected is Northeast 52.5° – 67.5°.
Tai Sui, also known as Grand Duke Jupiter or Grand Commander of the Year is probably one of the most highly respected and feared deity in the Chinese beliefs. It is said that if your Zodiac animal clashes with the Tai Sui or you have inadvertently offended him, bad luck will befall you for the whole year.
