FengShui - Toilet and Bathroom Dos and Don'ts

FengShui - Toilet and Bathroom Dos and Don'ts
Each and every part or direction of a home is related to a specific aspect of life and a toilet and bathroom in that part will drain the luck or benefits of that aspect of life. How a toilet and bathroom flushes prosperity & what you can do about it.

From a traditional Feng Shui perspective, toilets and bathrooms have a bad reputation as they are said to drain and flush away positive energy. This is because good ‘Qi,’ or positive energy, is represented by water, which will either sit stagnant or flow out bathroom pipes and drains. But when toilets and bathrooms are position correctly when they can dispose of bad “Qi” it can be beneficial. The toilet is where we dispose of our waste while bathroom is where we clean and freshen up ourselves. They are strong source of Yin 阴 energies.

Dos

First of all, it doesn’t matter if your bathroom is huge or tiny. But the location does matter, something to keep in mind if you’re starting a bathroom from scratch (which most of us aren’t).

- be located in your inauspicious location. Don’t mixed up location with direction.

- have good lighting and ventilation to increase the Yang 阳energies.

- always be kept hygienic.

- painted with Yang color.

- keep it light and bright. Ensure your bathroom receives plenty of sunlight and fresh air — both are wonderful disinfectants and natural energy boosters. Make sure that the bathroom receives ample sunlight and fresh air.

- good scents. Just like any self-care sanctuary, in a feng shui bathroom, you can create a relaxing atmosphere.

- Keep the bathroom clean, fresh and airy. Cleanliness is also straightforward in a bathroom, at least when it concerns feng shui. Sunshine and fresh air are the big essentials for making a bathroom feel its cleanest.

- door closed at all time. A closed door can also prevent positive vibes from spilling in and getting sucked down the drain.

- close the toilet lid. A closed toilet lid can prevent some of that good Chi from going down the drain.

Don'ts

- toilet door faces kitchen door as the kitchen represents health, wealth and fame. This can be very bad.

- toilet door faces main door, bedroom doors

- be located above kitchen is the height is low.

- be located above main door is the height is low.

- be located above living room, dining area or bedroom when the height is too low.

- sharing toilets wall with your bed.

- have toilet doors open when not in use.

- be without proper ventilation.

- be constantly wet with stagnant water.

- clutter in the bathroom.

- mirrors reflecting toilet seats.

- leaking taps and faucets

- bathroom or toilet at the center of home
