In BaZi analysis, understanding Combination (合) and Transformation (化) is crucial, as it directly determines how the Ten Gods and Five Elements actually function within a chart.

A true transformation can alter the nature of a Ten God entirely, changing its role from favourable to unfavourable (or vice versa), while failed transformations leave the original structure intact. At the same time, certain combinations may “release” an element’s influence, allowing another element to manifest more strongly. Without this deeper level of analysis, interpretations can be superficial or even misleading. Therefore, mastering the dynamics of Combination and Transformation is essential for accurately determining the chart structure, Useful Ten Gods (用神 Yong Shen), and ultimately, the real potential of a BaZi chart.

2. which is released after a combination (合神被释) , and

In Feng Shui, some homes originally enjoy harmony, prosperity and good health. However, when additional structures are built without proper consideration of the surrounding energy field, the balance of the property can be disrupted.

A house that once had excellent Feng Shui may suddenly experience repeated illnesses, accidents or unexpected problems after an extension or new structure is added. The reason is simple: the original energy field of the property has been disturbed.

The name may sound very inauspicious, but it accurately reflects the symbolism of the structure. I originally did not want to use this term. However, because this type of structure is often overlooked and can cause real harm, I decided to keep the traditional name to raise awareness.

“Poorer” can mean:

• Wealth opportunities appear but cannot be captured
• Effort does not translate into financial results
