Why Is It So Hard to Read My BaZi: 化气格 (Hua Qi Ge)

I’ve met with a few Sifu to get my natal chart read, but I still feel that something is not quite right or aligned with my BaZi. My birth details are 26 June 1973 at 1:25 PM. Can you please help enlighten me?

Why This BaZi Chart Is Hard to Read

This is because your chart belongs to a special structure known as 化气格 (Hua Qi Ge), or the “Transforming into Qi Structure.”

The key point is that your chart undergoes a complete transformation. In your case, the Gui (癸) Water Day Master transforms into Fire, changing how your BaZi is interpreted and making it more unique and complex than most charts.

In BaZi, most charts balance elements by using supporting and controlling cycles. But in a Hua Qi Ge chart, the normal balance gives way to a complete elemental transformation. This means one element dominates so strongly that it “transforms” the Day Master into another element.

In your case, the Gui (癸) Water Day Master transforms into Fire, changing how your chart is read. Instead of analyzing you as a Water Day Master, your chart is interpreted through Fire energy. This makes your BaZi unique and more complex, as many standard reading methods don’t fully apply.

Your strengths, career directions, and life path may be better understood through Fire-related qualities

Traditional Useful Ten Gods 喜用神 or “favorable elements 喜神” for a normal Water Day Master will not work you.

This transformation is rare, which is why different Sifu may interpret your chart differently.
