In BaZi Luck Pillar TaYun always begins on Li Chun

Hello Master,

Is it true that the TaYun always starts on Li Chun in the first year?

If that's the case, my luck should have improved since I entered my new TaYun this year. But my luck still feels the same, constantly struggling month to month.

Please help.

TaYun Luck Pillar Doesn’t Always Start on Li Chun

Although Li Chun is traditionally used as a reference point, the actual start of your TaYun cycle will vary. This means in BaZi the Luck Pillar TaYun does not always begin on Li Chun - in most cases, it will vary.

Check your specific start date using our BaZi Calculator.

You will see something like: 'Luck Pillar Start Date: 20/8/2033', which means each of your TaYun Luck Pillars starts on August 20th in the first year, respectively.

The TaYun (大运) or Luck Pillars refer to a system of 10-year cycles that reveal the influences of the elements and Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches on a person’s life. These cycles start in the first year of your life, but the exact timing can depend on your birth date and time.

Here’s how it generally works:

1. TaYun is calculated based on your day pillar (the Day Master).

2. Li Chun is just a reference: The beginning of your first TaYun can vary depending on your date of birth (especially the exact time and day of year).

When the BaZi Calculator shows that your TaYun Luck Pillar starts on 11 Nov, it means your new luck pillar begins from that date.

Whether it improves or not depends on your BaZi.
