Overhead beams in Feng Shui.

Overhead exposed beams.

Protruding overhead beams cause problem inside the your home and office.

Why people said its bad. First let me explain what happened when there is an overhead exposed beam.

When qi is blocked by the beam, all the qi will point downward and create a invisible force which impact on anyone sitting under it.

Sleeping or working directly under an exposed overhead beam is a serious affliction. This will have negative impact on your health.

However, please take note

1. that this will negatively impact your health only if you sit or sleep under it for a long time of period; for an example 8 hours every day.

2. if the whole exposed beams is big enough to cover your whole body, then it is alright for example your double decker bed.

Some feng shui masters recomended using a red packet, hang a pair of hollow flute (in chinese it sounded like "void"), hang a bat likes item (so the bats can hold up the beam) and hang a five-rod windchime in order to cure the problem. You tell me whether any of these works.

The cures is very simple.

1. Put some light under or next to the beams. This create a warmer environment with qi and this ensure that there is no invisible force being created.

2. If no light is allowed for example in your bedroom, hang a piece a cloth (billowing fabric) covering up the beam loosely enough to allow a smooth flow of qi. A canopy bed or sheetrocking is also beneficial.
