There are many occasion, you really enjoy all your good luck for example, you just strike lottery over the weekend and won USD500,000. You was lucky no doubt about it. Another example, you are working for a multi national company, and being promoted to Chief Operating Officer with a big increase in salary, you are lucky right? No doubt. But of course you did sacrifices for the company. The above two examples are very clear and obvious cases.

But in some cases, you might want to think twice before your speak. For example, your friend’s mother has just passed away; this is bad right? Right. But after two months, he got a huge paycheck from the insurance company. Do you still consider this as bad luck? And make sure you do not greet him with “you are very lucky”; you might get yourself hurt.

In FengShui or BaZi Four Pillars of Destiny, sometime I felt it is a bit cruel but we have to find a definition for what “Good luck” means. Chinese are very materialistic and the definition of Bad or Good luck lies in one word.

            “MONEY” or "财 "

The last word from Gong Xi Fa Chai 恭喜发财.

Of course this defintion is only applicable to adults but the age boundary is getting younger and younger.

As long as you are making money, you are in good luck, the more money you make the luckier you are. It is cruel or human less but this is the accepted fact and how luck is defined.

Therefore, next time when you refer to good luck but not related to money, you have better say “good luck in health”, “good luck in your career” and so on.
