Dear Master Peter, If I start my house renovation week before 农历七月 is it inauspicious? The renovation takes about a month to complete hence it will cross over to the 7th month which is the hungry ghost festival. Please advise. Thank you.

It is better to start in 农历八月. You must choose a good day to start. Cheers.
