Hi Master,
I am thinking to buy a unit in Singapore.
Should I choose a lower unit or an upper one?
Thanks.

The level (or floor) of a condo unit can be important in Feng Shui, but it’s not the most critical factor on its own. Here’s how it matters and when it doesn’t.
When Condo Level matters in Feng Shui
1. Element Association by Floor Number Some Feng Shui schools associate floor numbers with the Five Elements:
1 & 6 = Water
2 & 7 = Fire
3 & 8 = Wood
4 & 9 = Metal
5 & 10 = Earth
If your personal BaZi chart is weak in a certain element, you might benefit from living on a floor number that supports it.
2. Avoiding Inauspicious Numbers Culturally, some numbers are seen as unlucky (e.g., 4 sounds like “death” in Chinese, 14 is often avoided), while 8 and 9 are considered prosperous.
3. Environmental Qi Flow Higher floors might have (this is not necessary true as need to confirm with the environment)
-Less grounding energy (Earth Qi) — which may affect stability or health for some.
-More Sky Qi — can benefit thinking, spirituality, or detachment from worldly stress.
But if too high, you may lose connection with supportive land energy.
4. View and Sha Qi (Killing Energy) Your unit’s view and what’s outside the window matter more than just floor level:
-Higher floors can avoid road intersections, lampposts, sharp rooflines, etc.
-But may also be exposed to more wind, which scatters beneficial Qi if not balanced.
But more important than floor level include
-Main door and unit facing direction
-Unit layout and internal flow
-External environment and landform (even in condos!)
-Compatibility with your personal BaZi. This is the most important.
To summarise,
Condo level has secondary Feng Shui impact. It's good to consider, but it’s not make-or-break unless other factors (like Sha Qi, elemental balance, or number symbolism) are involved.
You can choose a unit based on the above information.
